Dust Life
05:15
|
|||
Remember when we were young and thought dust bunnies were alive?
We thought the swirling sundust were moving atoms in disguise;
Our eyes of green were all the years we needed to hold
The faint glimmers off tree leaves giving light to all that's growing old.
And clouds formed shapes that we'd give names in warm suspiring skies
But as they passed the shapes would change and we'd give them another life;
We would dance in sunlight mixed with rain that would visit in the cold,
And catch the laughter rippling in puddles, not knowing what we're told.
And now I just want someone to share all this life with;
Someone to share all these bubbling laughs with.
To be with me by the fountain in the city,
Someone who knows what it's like to live
As passengers sent to feel the light brimming
Leaking so soft in the dream of the waking
And breathing so gently like the pulse of the waters
That cool our heads and keeps us mistaking.
We hear music from passing cars
And wet our lips to sweet weekend air
Like tides blowing against your face,
To shine those rising eyes that say, "I care..."
What to give to palliate my palate for sensation,
And to release it all for the drunken liberation.
And the words paint freckles across your age
Bridging the rivers between blank and sage.
To be young as we are today,
To be young as we'll always be.
As if we never existed,
To feel like we can ever exist here.
Counting the dust on my skin, you laugh with your hands on my skin,
Dancing the steps that will be washed away -- You've already seen,
And maybe we're the clouds after all
Transmuting the psalms of lilting falls
We could live as raindrops do
Or we could be dancing in sunlight swoon
Or we could be running aside the colors
That dance anyways though they can't hear us discover.
Words paint freckles across your age
Bridging the rivers between blank and sage.
To be young as we are today,
To be young as we'll always be.
As if we never existed,
To feel like we can ever exist here.
We could live as raindrops do
Or we could be dancing in sunlight swoon
Or we could be running aside the colors
That dance anyways though they can't hear us discover.
Counting the dust on my skin, you laugh with your hands on my skin,
Dancing the steps that will be washed away -- You've already seen...

A Word (Noir-Lit)
03:53
|
|||
Having you around me feels like a million lights exploding,
You warm me with sunshine from your noir-lit bright eyes,
Reminding me of innocence and vivid ambitious life!
Yours is the hand I've always been dreaming to hold,
Since I knew how to dream!
I want to love all the things you've grown to love,
I want to learn all the things that make you who you are.
A word can scare like a shot from a barrel,
My heart is aiming for yours, my mind is stuck on your smile;
A stretch of pink sunset, don't go away!
A word can scare but I'm not afraid!

The Defiler
05:21
|
|||
I promised you eternity with our tectonic hearts
And drew you a horizon beyond the sun and the stars;
I've awakened the slumbering beast with wings,
In the midst of the etude I asked you to sing.
You felt the head high in candle light
And hid the trinkets of our daily lives,
Investing your trust and hoping that it would bloom;
Somewhere encaved, we forgot the ticking truth.
I'm the defiler of egos,
Urging you and forcing you to show your whole self;
I've destroyed you with my sweet epithets
And made you prone to the virulent dreamworks.
I believed so much in our potential
But no words could move us from mountain rest.
You've ensnared me in your chronic tomb
And I've coerced you to be my reaper.
Like a set of binary stars,
We cruelly circle one another;
We're dancing along the perimeter,
But we're never going to meet.
I feel the bugs buzzing in my head;
Are they polluting you too?
It's our only fault we tread on mortal paths;
Even Prometheus had time to recover.
But the flock of time never ceases
At my heart, and beyond our horizon,
We'll be nothing but faded skeletons,
Believing in nothing but timeless face.
If we could only be reborn again,
We'd suffer the same ambitious fate,
Just to queue again for the roller coaster.
We'd still perish in our insanity-driven paradise,
Though we'd believe it was simply Paradise.

That Dream
04:11
|
|||
But I never left that dream.
Though farther and farther I try to sail,
I only remove further from my heart,
Calling that which cannot be forgotten.
And I argue it, “No! No, be quenched!”
An arctic stone insuperably burning through
My chest, trembling below the mantle,
Aflame in desire; cold in defeat.
But that dream never left me,
Though I try to push it away,
Its melody still rolls in my head
So sweet, so bright, so inescapable.
Is it a self-inflicted tease,
Too imaginative to ever take its white form?
Is it a ghost that whispers so soft
The bitter sensation of gentle love clouds?
Either direction I try to pull,
It constricts stronger and more warmly;
Let me keep this tender dream,
And grow to watch it bloom in dreams...
