I promised you eternity with our tectonic hearts
And drew you a horizon beyond the sun and the stars;
I've awakened the slumbering beast with wings,
In the midst of the etude I asked you to sing.
You felt the head high in candle light
And hid the trinkets of our daily lives,
Investing your trust and hoping that it would bloom;
Somewhere encaved, we forgot the ticking truth.
I'm the defiler of egos,
Urging you and forcing you to show your whole self;
I've destroyed you with my sweet epithets
And made you prone to the virulent dreamworks.
I believed so much in our potential
But no words could move us from mountain rest.
You've ensnared me in your chronic tomb
And I've coerced you to be my reaper.
Like a set of binary stars,
We cruelly circle one another;
We're dancing along the perimeter,
But we're never going to meet.
I feel the bugs buzzing in my head;
Are they polluting you too?
It's our only fault we tread on mortal paths;
Even Prometheus had time to recover.
But the flock of time never ceases
At my heart, and beyond our horizon,
We'll be nothing but faded skeletons,
Believing in nothing but timeless face.
If we could only be reborn again,
We'd suffer the same ambitious fate,
Just to queue again for the roller coaster.
We'd still perish in our insanity-driven paradise,
Though we'd believe it was simply Paradise.
